Our Roots
Childhood Connect was founded in 2023 with a simple belief, learning should be experienced, not just consumed.
As the world became increasingly filled with information, I noticed something important was being lost. Educators were overwhelmed by professional learning that felt disconnected from their daily practice. Families were searching for more meaningful ways to connect and grow together. Children were spending less time immersed in nature, curiosity, and hands-on exploration. Something had to change! I saw an opportunity to bring something different to the table and revitalize the possibilities for learning and growth, because the truth is, what people need most right now is space to connect ideas to action, build relationships, spark creativity, and rediscover the joy that learning can bring!
Today, the Childhood Connect team and I support communities across Ontario through professional learning for educators, pedagogical coaching, and supportive sessions for families. Every workshop, program, and resource is designed with one purpose in mind - to help educators, families and children make meaningful connections with themselves, others, and lifelong learning.
While our programs continue to grow and evolve, our roots will remain the same. Whether you're looking to bring professional learning to your team or fun educational programs to the community you serve, we are ready to walk with you on your journey.

Reflective Practice
We view reflection as an essential part of professional growth. Educators are supported in slowing down, revisiting ideas, and making sense of their practice over time through guided reflection and intentional pauses. Rather than seeking quick answers, learning with Childhood Connect honours the processes, evolution, and deepening of understanding.
We design learning atmospheres that invite curiosity, reflection, and shared meaning-making, allowing educators to engage with ideas in ways that feel relevant, thoughtful, and grounded in real life experiences.

Relational Learning
We believe learning unfolds through relationship with ideas, with others, and with ourselves. Here, professional learning is intentionally designed to be collaborative and dialogic, creating space for shared reflection, conversation, and multiple perspectives.
Educators are invited to learn alongside one another, co-construct understanding, and engage in learning experiences that feel connected, human, and rooted in trust.

Collaborative Practices & Team Growth

Team learning is woven throughout our professional learning offerings as a way of supporting thoughtful, aligned practice that can be sustained beyond the learning experience itself.

Experiential Pedagogy
We understand experiential pedagogy as learning that is intentionally designed, situated in practice, and shaped through inquiry and reflection. At Childhood Connect, learning experiences are thoughtfully constructed to engage educators in active meaning-making, where theory and practice inform one another.
Educators are invited to examine pedagogical questions, test ideas through experience, and reflect on how learning unfolds in real contexts, supporting deeper understanding and sustained professional growth.
Our Team
Cara Caudle MEd RECE FNP
Founder & Director, Childhood ConnectCara Caudle is the Founder and Director of Childhood Connect, 10+ year Educator, International Speaker, Faculty or Early Childhood Education, and PhD student in Education and Curriculum Studies.
After many years of working alongside educators, children, and families, Cara saw a growing need for learning experiences that felt more human, connected, and genuinely meaningful. In 2023, Cara created Childhood Connect, an example of what is possible when people are given responsive space, conditions, and support to grow. Through professional learning experiences, nature-based programs, and community initiatives, Cara strives to create environments where people feel safe to show up as themselves, explore new possibilities, build on their strengths, and leave a little better than when they arrived. Her work is grounded in holistic education and explores the intersection of creativity, well-being, relationships, trauma-informed practice, neuro-distinct affirming approaches, experiential learning, and more.
Whether Cara is facilitating a workshop, speaking at a conference, mentoring educators, or working alongside children outdoors, Cara's mission remains the same, to help people reconnect with their purpose, strengthen their capacity for growth, and experience the joy that meaningful learning can bring.
Professional Learning Partners
Childhood Connect is built through relationships. While many of our learning experiences are facilitated directly by Director Cara, we also collaborate with talented educators, artists, and community members who share our commitment to meaningful learning, creativity, and connection. We believe that everyone brings unique strengths, perspectives, and gifts to the learning process. By partnering with individuals who are passionate about their work, we are able to create richer experiences and introduce participants to diverse ideas, approaches, and possibilities.
One of our cherished collaborators is Ally, a Registered Early Childhood Educator and artist who collaborated on Mountains and Molehills, a creative art experience designed to encourage reflection, resilience, and team connection through artistic expression. Her creativity, authenticity, and passion for the arts helped shape an experience that resonated deeply with participants. Who says educators can’t play to learn too!
